China Glaze Prismatic Collection

This is the first time I feel like I have bought a whole collection (at least at one time).  I had coupons and my eyes were drawn to the sparkle.  I did enjoy this collection, but I do have some reservations about it.

Pros:
--Very good opacity for glitter nail polish with 4 of the 6 colors.  But the more sheer colors are still great for layering.
--Duo-Chrome and Glitter?  Of course!!!  They really are great shades for spring and so sparkly once top coat is applied
--Good application.

Cons:
--The Duo-Chrome is often lost and only found in the best of lighting once on the nail.  I was a bit disappointed the shade-shifting wasn't more defined.
--I found Prism and Liquid Crystal to be vere similar colors (blue with purple hues VS purple with blue hues.  I have a bottle shot where I'd swear it was the same color: (Liquid Crystal is left, Prism is right)

--Poor staying power.  I found chips in less that 24 hours.  I always find that so sad with such pretty glitters.  (which is probably why I prefer adding my own glitter to my manicures.)
--This isn't specific to this line, but with all glitter polishes like this, they are VERY tedious to get off when you want to remove them.  (My recommendation is cotton cut to nail shape, dipped in acetone and finger tips wrapped in foil for several minutes).

Hope you enjoy the collection.  Check out my individual posts for the six colors Prism, Liquid Crystal, Optical Illusion, Ray-Diant, Polarized and Full Spectrum.  What did you think of this collection?

China Glaze Full Spectrum

From their Prismatic Collection, this color is a silver/purple base with multi-sized glitter.  All colors from this collection are intended to have a duo-chrome finish.  This is the most sheer color in the collection that I think works best as a layering polish than stand alone.  I layered it over China Glaze Liquid Leather to show its contrast over a dark color.  I painted it, singly, in three coats and only added one coat over the black thumb.

China Glaze Polarized

From their Prismatic Collection, this color is a silver base with multi-sized glitter.  All colors from this collection are intended to have a duo-chrome finish.  This is the least "Chromatic" of the collection and also one of the more sheer colors.  I layered it for one shot over China Glaze Liquid Leather to show its contrast (you can pick up a slight hint of purple) over a dark color.  I painted it, singly, in three coats and only added one coat over the black thumb.

China Glaze Ray-Diant

From their Prismatic Collection, this color is a green/gold base with multi-sized glitter.  All colors from this collection are intended to have a duo-chrome finish.  You can mildly see the varying shades of green, silver, and gold in some of the pictures, but it is very subtle once on the nail and dry (as I found with all the colors in this collection).  They are very pretty and as for sparkle polish this color is decently opaque.  I am showing it in three coats.

China Glaze Optical Illusion

From their Prismatic Collection, this color is a green/aqua base with multi-sized glitter.  All colors from this collection are intended to have a duo-chrome finish.  You can mildly see the varying shades of purple, blue and pink in some of the pictures--especially the bottle shots, but it is very subtle once on the nail and dry (as I found with all the colors in this collection).  They are very pretty and as for sparkle polish this color is decently opaque.  I am showing it in three coats.

China Glaze Liquid Crystal

From their Prismatic Collection, this color is a pastel blue base with multi-sized glitter.  All colors from this collection are intended to have a duo-chrome finish.  You can mildly see the varying shades of purple, green and pink in some of the pictures--especially the bottle shots, but it is very subtle once on the nail and dry (as I found with all the colors in this collection).  They are very pretty and as for sparkle polish this color is decently opaque.  I am showing it in three coats.  On the nail, this color looks very similar to Prism.

China Glaze Prism

From their Prismatic Collection, this color is a pastel purple base with multi-sized glitter.  All colors from this collection are intended to have a duo-chrome finish.  You can mildly see the varying shades of purple, blue and pink in some of the pictures, but it is very subtle (as I found with all the colors in this collection once on the nail).  They are very pretty and as for sparkle polish this color is decently opaque.  I am showing it in three coats.  On the nail, this color looks very similar to Liquid Crystal.

Zoya Gilda

A very bright, sparkly pink stunner from Zoya's Sparkle Collection.  It was a bit on the sheer side for my liking, but still nice, nonetheless.  Shown here in three coats.

Zoya Alegra

I was drawn to this color at a recent trip to Ulta.  From Zoya's Sparkle Collection, this is a sparkly, fuchsia pink with red and purple undertones.  Application was good and I have it painted in three coats.  I don't think the pictures do it justice, it's a looker.

China Glaze Blue Sparrow

This is a blue neon I recently added to my collection.  It's a neon from China Glaze's INK Collection.  I really like the color, but it's best when a top coat is applied to see the underlying sparkle.  Most neon polished dry matte, as this color.  And though I usually show my polish swatches with no top coat, I am adding some a pic with top coat so you can see the difference.  The color is a bit on the jelly side and I for me it was not as opaque as I wanted it to be.  This is three coats, but I think I would have preferred four.  Also, this polish (again, as with most mattes) chipped very fast.  Less that 24 hours and several of my bare nail tips were showing.

China Glaze Dress Me Up

After getting some amazing deals at Sally's, I decided to add this Capitol Colors polish to my Hunger Games collection from China Glaze.  I do like a good neutral polish for more demure days and I really do like this color.  I found it dried a bit darker than I expected from the bottle color, but all-in-all a great color in this collection.  Opaque, good application and shown here in three coats.
